GST Op

GST Open Series is an Order of Merit Multi Event Competition for male golfers in Southern Tasmania.  Events are played across many of the Golf Southern Tasmania Clubs

The GST Open series will also provide a selection process for the Golf Southern Tasmania Thyne Trophy Team.  Therefore the Series starts with the first Event after the preceding Thyne Trophy and finishes with the final event before the Thyne Trophy.   The 25/26 season will commence with the Royal Hobart Cup on 24th August 2025 and conclude with th Southern Open on 21-22 February 2026. 

The winner of the GST Open Series will receive the historic Ashbarry Trophy which was previously presented to the Southern Order of Merit Winner in years gone past

The Top 5 Players from GST clubs on the Open Series Leaderboard after the final event will gain automatic selection into the Thyne Trophy Team with the remaining three picks up to manager/captain/selection committee.
